What to Pack: Nurse’s Gifts

I think it must be the prior nurse in me, but I like to pack some goodies to gift to the hospital staff as a thank you for being a part of welcoming a new little love into our family. I packed two gifts this time around: one for Labor & Delivery and another for Postpartum because I was so disappointed that I only thought to bring one before. I also transitioned from a cute basket to a bag because lets be honest, a basket is not practical when you are trekking into the hospital in labor. I have to say I did some searching for the perfect bag for this, and I am so happy with the Nook Theory bags that I landed on- they have a short and long handle, they have multiple pockets on the inside for organization, they are quality canvas material, and come in a three pack!

What I included:

Lots of snacks:

I stocked up on lots of snacks that we love at Costco so that we can use the extras and stash them around the house when I am starved at 2am and nursing trapped. Trail mix, fig bars, granola bites, fruit bars, and the yummiest truffle cones. I also got two different flavors of sparkling water and made a variety pack between the two bags.

Electrolyte drops:

I love these vitality electrolyte drops- they taste so good and have clean ingredients. Perfect to have at the nurse’s station for everyone to share, and always helps me to drink more water.

Hair clips:

These hair clips are the perfect little gift to have handy at work to pull hair back. I love that you can buy a big combo pack to split between the two bags.

Someday books:

I always like to gift some of my Someday books to share with parents who are finally welcoming their sweetest someday with a little note.

A gift is never necessary, but I feel inclined to put together a little something as a thank you for the hard work and dedication to caring for and helping to bring our babies into this world. I hope this helps to give some ideas, but from my years as a bedside nurse, absolutely anything is so very appreciated.

xo, Kelly

As a nurse I always wanted to know who gifts were from, so I would include a little card with your name as well! I designed this card to attach to the front the of the bag which turned out so sweet.
